Sun TV Network jumped 14.3 per cent to close at Rs 144.10 on reports that the Maran brothers (promoters) have patched up with their estranged grand uncle and the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, M Karunanidhi. Analysts view this as a win-win situation for both parties.

The truce could drive the domestic cable revenues of Sun with contribution from the government's cable company, Arasu Cable. The DMK leader, on the other hand, could get the required political mileage in next year's polls, with Sun having the state’s largest market share. The stock made an intraday high/low of Rs 153/Rs 125.80.
