Supplyco paddy procurement at all-time high

The Kerala State Civil Supplies Corporation (Supplyco) paddy procurement was at an all-time high at 151,68,35 quintal during February"�May 2007.

In 2006"�07, the corporation procured 225,76,44 quintal, according to a Supplyco press release.

The procurement price was Rs 850 per quintal while the market rate is Rs 750"�800. The procurement was mainly from districts like Palakkad, Malappuram, Thrissur, Alappuzha and Kottayam.

The corporation procured 139,59,27 quintal in 2005-06 and in 2004-05, it was 52,37,88 quintal.
