Suzlon Energy rises on bagging new order

Suzlon Energy is trading higher by more than 4% at Rs 38.70 in an otherwise extremely weak market after the company won a second order from Indian Oil Corporation to set up, operate and maintain wind energy projects of 48.3 megawatt in Andhra Pradesh.

“The order comprises of 23 units of Suzlon's S88-2.1 megawatt (MW) wind turbines and the power generated will be sold to the local power utility," the leading wind turbine supplier said in a filing to the stock exchanges.

The stock opened at Rs 37.50 and touched a high of Rs 38.90 on the National Stock Exchange (NSE). A combined 13.95 million shares have changed hands on the counter till 1118 hours.
