The stocks of most sugar companies have gained in the last three months from September to November 2004 on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE). The companies are expected to see better profits with sugar prices rising.
 
The shares of Balrampur Chini rose from Rs 413.05 on September 1, to today's close of Rs 459.60, up 11.22 per cent on the BSE.
 
Dharani Sugars increased from Rs 9.18 to Rs 13.44. Kesar Enterprises lifted from Rs 35.10 to Rs 35.79.
 
Nahar Sugar & Industries gained from Rs 12.14 to Rs 18.35 up 51.11 per cent, Rana Sugars from Rs 16.30 at Rs 17.25 at the end of three months and Rajshree Sugar from Rs 37.15 to Rs 42.50.
 
Oudh Sugar Mills rose from Rs 64.45 to Rs 84.50 while Pratappur Sugar & Industries gained from Rs 12.47 to Rs 15.37 and Ravalgaon Sugar from Rs 2724.65 to Rs 3333.55.
 
Upper Ganges Sugar rose from Rs 97.55 to Rs 128.55 and Bannari Amman Sugars from Rs 359.80 to Rs 417.90. During the same period the Dhampur Sugar stock fell from Rs 55.65 to Rs 53.90, down by roughly 3.14 per cent.
