Tata Motors skids as strike call by DHL workers to impact deliveries

DHL manages the supply chain at JLR's facilities and its workers have been demanding a large pay rise and similar terms and conditions on par with the JLR staff, report.

Tata Motors is trading lower by 3.5% at Rs 286 on reports that the production line at Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) facilities in the UK may get impacted after delivery workers from DHL voted for a strike.

According to media reports, the DHL workers have been demanding a large pay rise and similar terms and conditions on par with the JLR staff.

As per the reports, DHL has close to 1,800 workers at JLR’s facilities in Castle Bromwich, Solihull and Halewood and are responsible for managing the supply chain at the plants.

Any shutdown due to the third party strike could impact the JLR operations adversely, says analyst at Angel Broking in a note.

The stock opened at Rs 289 and hit a low of Rs 285 on NSE. A combined around 1.14 million shares have changed hands on the counter till 0957 hours on NSE and BSE.
