Tata Motors, Tisco futures shoot up

 Nifty October futures lost 23.75 points to close at 1,473.75 points as against a loss of 23.65 points in S&P CNX Nifty that closed at 1,470.45.

 Index futures witnessed a trading volume of Rs 2,739.11 crore arising out of 91,734 contracts. The total turnover of the F&O segment of the NSE was around Rs 9,531.33 crore.

 Among the most active Nifty futures contracts, Tata Motors, Tisco, Satyam and SBI topped the chart and Punjab National Bank and Bank of Baroda added open interest positions in the futures segment.

 Among stock options, the top twenty contracts contributed to around 44 per cent of the total traded volume.

 Satyam Computer was the most active option contract on individual stocks traded today with 4,617 contracts and Tisco was the next most active options contract with 2,518 contracts being traded.
