TCS moves up on strong Q2 performance

The stock slipped over 2% from the day's high to touch a low of Rs 604. It finally ended with a marginal gain of 1.5% at Rs 609. Over 311,900 shares changed hands at the counter today on the BSE.

TCS has gained in trades today following announcement of its Q2 numbers on Friday.

The stock opened at Rs  610 and surged to a high of Rs 618. The stock is now up 2% at Rs 610. Over  121,035 shares have been traded on the BSE so far.

According to a release issued by the company to the BSE, the consolidated net profit increased 30% to Rs 1,642 crore in the quarter ended September 2009 from Rs 1,271 crore in the same quarter in the previous year. The company's revenue jumped over 3% to Rs 7,436 crore from Rs 6,953 crore.
