Three-month copper hits record high of $5,617 on LME

Three-month copper on the London Metal Exchange hit a fresh high of $5,617 a tonne on Tuesday on fresh buying by funds. The rally, however, was restricted to copper. Aluminium, nickel and zinc ended lower on profit taking, domestic dealers said.
 
Three-month copper futures on Tuesday breached Monday's record high of $5,615 a tonne on fresh fund buying amid supply concerns as workers in Mexico's La Caridad copper mine continued with their strike.
