Thyrocare Technologies makes stellar debut; stock surges over 40%

Thyrocare Technologies has seen a stellar debut on the bourses, with the stock listing at Rs 665 -- a 49% premium compared with its issue price of Rs 446 per equity share, on the National Stock Exchange (NSE).

On the BSE (Bombay Stock Exchange), the stock listed at Rs 662. It touched high of Rs 665 and low of Rs 623 so far.

At 10:02 AM, the stock was trading at Rs 638 on the NSE and BSE.  A combined 3.06 million shares changed hands on the counter on both the exchanges so far.

Healthcare and Diagnostics Company Thyrocare Technologies received strong demand of 73 times the number of shares it had offered in an Rs 480 crore initial public offering (IPO). The high net-worth individual investors segment was subscribed 225 times, the institutional investor segment 73 times and retail portion 8.73 times.

The entire public issue was an offer for sale by the company's promoters and a private equity investor. The company had fixed the IPO price at Rs 420-446 per share.
