Tin prices rose sharply at the mixed non-ferrous metal market here today due to sustained buying from stockists amid higher consumer industrial off-take.

Elsewhere, copper cable scrap, copper wire bar and copper utensils scrap firmed up owing to fresh industrial demand.

However, nickel, aluminium, zinc, brass and select copper prices declined owing to reduced demand from industrial users.

Tin shot-up by Rs 45 per quintal to Rs 1,280 from yesterday's closing level of Rs 1,235.

Copper cable scrap and copper wire bar both edged up by Rs 2 per kilo each to Rs 387 and Rs 415.

Copper utensils scrap inched up by a rupee per kilo to Rs 351.

However, nickel fell by Rs 5 per kilo to Rs 1,130 from Rs 1,135 and aluminium utensils scrap dipped by Rs 4 per kilo to Rs 90 as against Rs 94 previously.

Copper scrap heavy moved down by Rs 2 per kilo to Rs 376.
