With the benchmark index Sensex regaining the psychological 16,000 level, nine out of the top 10 valued firms added nearly Rs 38,000 crore to their market capitalisation last week.
For the week ended February 13, power behemoth NTPC was the lone loser. NTPC slipped to the fifth spot from the fourth position the week earlier after losing Rs 2,020 crore in market capitalisation (m-cap) to close at Rs 1,67,053 crore.
State-run NMDC at the third place was the biggest gainer, adding Rs 13,024 crore in its m-cap, taking its total valuation to Rs 1,92,466.36 crore.
Shares of NMDC surged 7.25 per cent during the period to close at Rs 485.45 at the end of Thursday's trade on the BSE.
The market traded only for four days during the past week as Friday (February 12) was a holiday on account of Mahashivratri.
Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Industries, maintained its top position and saw its valuation surge by Rs 6,634 crore to Rs 3,31,582.94 crore.

In the past week Sensex gained 361.66 points to 16,152.59 points at the end of Thursday's trade on the BSE.
State-run oil firm ONGC at the seconf spot added Rs 1,219.16 crore in its m-cap, while the country's largest iron ore producer NMDC at the third place added Rs 13,024 crore to its valuations.
The market valuation of ONGC stood at Rs 2,35,318 crore.
Trading firm MMTC and power producer NTPC shuffled their positions with each other.
MMTC inched up to the fourth place after adding Rs 1,849 crore to its valuation, while state-owned NTPC skid to the fifth after losing Rs 2,020.14 crore from its m-cap.
MMTC's m-cap surged to Rs 1,70,449.25 crore and NTPC saw its valuation decline to Rs 1,67,053.02 crore.
Two IT firms -- TCS at the sixth spot and Infosys Technologies at the seventh place -- together added Rs 9,286 crore to their m-cap.
At the end of the week, TCS' valuation surged to Rs 1,45,322 crore while that of Infosys Technologies to Rs 1,43,253 crore.
The country's largest public sector lender SBI at eighth place added Rs 238 crore to its m-cap and private telecom service provider Bharti Airtel at the ninth spot saw its valuation surge by Rs 5,391.68 crore.
SBI's valuation soared to Rs 1,21,744.59 crore and Airtel's at Rs 1,19,376.42 crore.
Power equipment maker BHEL at the tenth position added Rs 308.39 crore to close at Rs 1,13,553.95 crore at the end of the week.
