Torrent Pharma gains as Dahej plant receives EIR from USFDA

Torrent Pharmaceuticals has gained over 4% to Rs 1,307 on the BSE after the company announced it has obtained the Establishment Inspection Report (EIR) from the United States Food and Drug Administration (US FDA) for its plant located in Dahej SEZ, in Gujarat.

With the approval, this plant is now the third plant of Torrent Pharma to receive US FDA approval, out of its five manufacturing units. The company’s other US FDA approved plant include the plant at Indrad, Gujarat and Pithampur (Indore).

Prior to this approval, the plant has also received approval from EU Germany. It was set up to cater mainly to the regulated international markets such as US, Brazil, Germany etc, Torrent Pharma said in a statement.

At 12:17 AM, the stock was up 3.3% at Rs 1,298 as compared to 0.42% rise in the S&P BSE Sensex. A combined 428,555 shares changed hands on the counter on the BSE and NSE.
