Traders Refuse To Pick Up Spices Despite Higher Offering

Triggered by lower commencements from Kochi, prices of black pepper golden increased by Rs 2 per kg in the Delhi market at Rs 9,000-9,700 per quintal. Weaker conditions were also seen in other spices such as cardamom, turmeric, cloves, mace yellow and cumin seeds and prices of selective spices declined on increased offerings by stockists.

However, the offtake from local parties was lower and therefore prices ended moderately lower. Sheel Jain, a spices trader in Delhi's Khari Baoli market said,
