Turmeric extends gains on pick up in demand

Reports of lower output this season supported the uptrend

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Turmeric futures for April added Rs 28, or 0.44% to Rs 6,336 per quintal in 27,780 lots.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange (NCDEX), the May contract went up by Rs 26, or 0.41% to Rs 6440 per quintal in 8,310 lots.

Prices gained as speculators enlarged positions, driven by a pick up in spot market demand.

Reports of lower output this season also supported the uptrend in turmeric.
