Turmeric prices fell by Rs 40, or 1.11%, to Rs 3,562 per quintal in futures market today as speculators reduced their positions amid heavy supplies in the market following an increase in acreage.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, the April delivery fell by Rs 40, or 1.11%, to Rs 3,562 per quintal, with an open interest of 16,945 lots.

The May contract lost Rs 28, or 0.76%, to Rs 3,638 per quintal, with an open interest of 24,720 lots.
