Turmeric futures prices fell by Rs 163, or 1.19 per cent, to Rs 13,518 per quintal today extending losses for the third session on continued off-loading due to weakness in the physical market.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange counter, turmeric for delivery in August fell by Rs 163, or 1.19 per cent, to Rs 13,518 per quintal, with an open interest of 190 lots.

The spice for delivery in current-month, May also eased by Rs 17, or 0.12 per cent to Rs 14,465 per quintal, with an open interest of 2,550 lots.

Market analysts said off-loading of positions by traders due to a weak trend at the spot market mainly led to the fall in the turmeric prices in futures market here.
