Turmeric futures decline on subdued demand

Turmeric prices declined by Rs 38 to Rs 6,350 per quintal in futures trade today due to sluggish demand against adequate stocks position.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, turmeric for October delivery declined by Rs 38, or 0.59% to Rs 6,350 per quintal, with an open interest of 2,255 lots. 

Likewise, the spice for August delivery traded lower by Rs 32, or 0.52%, to Rs 6,166 per quintal, with an open interest of 3,290 lots. Analysts said turmeric prices declined due to sluggish spot market demand.
