Turmeric futures prices fell by 0.95% to Rs 9,400 per quintal today as traders reduced their positions, triggered by adequate stocks in the market following mounting arrivals and subdued spot demand.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, turmeric for delivery in April fell by Rs 90, or 0.95% to Rs 9,400 per quintal, with an open interest of 2,555 lots.
Analysts said the fall in turmeric futures prices was mostly due to the supply pressure in the spot markets against sluggish demand.
