Turmeric prices rose by Rs 30 to Rs 7,590 per quintal in futures today on fresh buying by traders amid a pick-up in spot market demand.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, turmeric for delivery in August rose by Rs 30, or 0.40%, to Rs 7,590 per quintal with an open interest for 7,550 lots.

July turmeric edged up by Rs 24, or 0.30%, to Rs 7,900 per quintal, with a trading volume of 7,848 lots.

Analysts said fresh buying by traders on improved demand in the spot market mainly helped turmeric futures prices to rise.
