Turmeric and jeera prices fell by up to Rs 200 per quintal in the national capital today owing to sluggish demand from retailers and stockists amid adequate stocks.

Lower demand and higher supplies in the domestic market also put pressure on the prices.

Turmeric prices fell by Rs 100 to settle at Rs 8,400-14,400 per quintal.

Jeera common and jeera best quality prices also declined by Rs 200 each to conclude at Rs 14,600-14,800 and Rs 16,800-16,900 per quintal.

Market analysts said sluggish demand from retailers and stockists amid sufficient stocks mainly pulled down the turmeric and jeera prices in the wholesale kirana market here.
