Turmeric up 0.8% on pick up in demand

Spice for delivery in December traded higher by 0.5%

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Turmeric prices rose by 0.84% to Rs 5,750 per quintal in futures market today as speculators created fresh position after pick up in demand in the spot market.

However, adequate stocks availability in the physical market restricted gains.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, turmeric for delivery in April rose by Rs 48, or 0.84%, to Rs 5,750 per quintal with an open interest of 7,735 lots.

Similarly, spice for delivery in December traded higher by Rs 28, or 0.55%, to Rs 5,090 per quintal in 13,325 lots.

Analysts said speculators created fresh position after pick up in demand  in the spot market helped turmeric prices to trade higher at futures trade.
