Unitech gains on new project plans

The stock advanced to a high of Rs 76 and finally settled at Rs 75, up 4% from its previous close. The counter clocked volumes of 9.77 million as compared to the two-week daily average tarded volumes of 8.82 million on the BSE.

Unitech has jumped in early trades this morning on plans of a host of new project launches in 2-3 months.

The stock opened at Rs 72.55 and surged 3% to a high of Rs 74.20. It is now up 2.5% at Rs 73.95. Around 1.5 million shares have changed hands at the counter so far on the BSE.

 

The real estate firm plans to launch 12-13 new projects in the next few months. Most of these will be residential and would cover a total space of 7-8 million square feet.

The company is also focussing on reducing debt. The realty firm has already brought down its debt from Rs 10,000 crore to below Rs 6,000 crore.
