Shares of United Spirits were up nearly 3% at Rs 2,545 after Diageo through its Dutch arm Relay BV increased stake through a bulk deal on the Bombay Stock Exchange.
Relay BV has purchased 35,00,000 shares of United Spirits at an average price of Rs 2,474.45 per share while Oppenheimer Funds Inc has sold 36,42,045 shares at an average price of Rs 2,474.25 per share on Friday, as per the bulk deal data on the Bombay Stock Exchange.
Following the bulk deal purchase, Diageo which owned 26.37% stake in United Spirits as of the third quarter ended December 2013 has now increased its stake by 2.41% to 28.78%.
