Upmove continues... Sensex gains 238pts

The Sensex has extended gains and is now up 238 points at 9,102.

The BSE Realty index has soared nearly 7% to 1,573. The Metal index has surged 4.3% to 5,238, and the Capital Goods index has rallied over 3% to 6,142.

Jaiprakash Associates has zoomed over 9% to Rs 81. DLF has soared nearly 8% to Rs 172, and Sterlite has surged 7% to Rs 313.

Reliance Infrastructure and Tata Steel have rallied around 6% each to Rs 492 and Rs 178, respectively.

Hindalco and BHEL have moved up nearly 5% each to Rs 46 and Rs 1,465, respectively.

 

Reliance Communications, Wipro and Reliance have gained around 4% each at Rs 165, Rs 237 and Rs 1,356, respectively.

ICICI Bank and Larsen & Toubro have advanced around 4% each to Rs 338 and Rs 642, respectively. HDFC Bank has added 3.5% to Rs 854.

TCS, ONGC and Tata Motors are up around 3% each to Rs 513, Rs 737 and Rs 177, respectively.

Mahindra & Mahindra, however, has plunged 3% to Rs 366.

The market breadth is extremely positive - out of 2,447 stocks traded so far, 1,632 have advanced, 721 have declined and the rest are unchanged.
