Upmove continues, Sensex soars 401pts

The Sensex is now up 401 points at 12,981.

HLL has zoomed over 9% to Rs 183. Gujarat Ambuja has surged 7.5% to Rs 112, and Ranbaxy has flared up 6% to Rs 328.

Dr.Reddy's, HDFC Bank and Grasim have rallied around 5% each to Rs 667, Rs 962 and Rs 2,205, respectively.

Reliance Communications and BHEL have advanced around 4.5% each to Rs 430 and Rs 2,104, respectively.

Out of 2,534 stocks traded so far, 1,567 have advanced, 911 have declined and 56 are unchanged.
