Upmove continues... Sensex up around 240pts

Sensex touched a high of 11,256, and is now up 239 points at 11,241.

IT, banking and power stocks are leading the rally so far. The BSE IT index has surged 3.5% at 2,627. The Bankex has gained 2.4% at 5,574, and the Power index is now up 2% at 2,091.

DLF and Wipro has increased 3.6% each to Rs 233 and Rs 327, respectively.

ICICI Bank is up 3.5% at Rs 455.

Infosys and HDFC have gained over 3% each at Rs 455 and Rs 1,478, respectively.

Sun Pharma and Jaiprakash Associates have moved up over 2.5% each to Rs 1,261 and Rs 133, respectively.

Reliance Infrastructure and ONGC have added around 2.5% each to Rs 678 and Rs 851, respectively.

TCS, Tata Power, NTPC, Reliance, Reliance Communications and HDFC Bank have rallied around 2% each.

Tata Motors down 1% at Rs 230 is the sole prominent loser.

The market breadth is positive- out of 2,271 shares traded, 1,212 have advanced and 974 have declined.
