Urad, gram down on sluggish demand

Urad and gram prices declined up to Rs 100 per quintal in the wholesale pulses market today on sluggish demand against adequate supply.

Traders said subdued demand against adequate stocks mainly led to a fall in urad and gram wholesale prices.

In the national capital, urad and its dal chilka local declined by Rs 100 each to Rs 3,600-4,150 and Rs 4,400-4,800, while best and dhoya traded lower by the same margin to Rs 4,900-5,200 and Rs 5,100-5,200 per quintal. 

Gram, its dal local and best quality were also weakened by Rs 50 each to Rs 2,380-2,405, Rs 2,650-2,665 and Rs 2,750-2,850 per quintal.
