Urad, gram rise on retailers demand

Prices of urad and gram firmed up to Rs 100 per quintal on the wholesale pulses market today on pick up in retailers demand.

Traders said rising retailers demand mainly led to rise in urad and gram wholesale price.

In the national capital, urad and its dal chilka local rose by Rs 100 each to Rs 3,900-4,450 and Rs 4,700-5,100, while urad dal best quality and dhoya were traded higher by the same margin to Rs 5,200-5,500 and Rs 5,400-5,500 per quintal.

Gram and its dal local variety also seen in demand and edged up by Rs 25 each to Rs 2,450-2,475 and Rs 2,750-2,765 per quintal, respectively.
