Urad, moong decline on sluggish demand

Amid subdued demand, urad and moong prices fell up to Rs 50 per quintal in the wholesale pulses market today. Other commodities, however, after moving in a tight range in the absence of worthwhile buying or selling, closed around previous closing. 

Marketmen said on besides reduced offtake by stockists due to fall in demand, adequate stocks also weighed on the prices.

Urad and urad chilka (local) traded Rs 50 each lower at Rs 5,330-5,880 and Rs 5,930-6,330 per quintal, respectively. Moong and dal moong chilka fell by Rs 30 each to Rs 4,470 -4,870 and Rs 5,270-5,670 per quintal, respectively.
