Urad weakens on sluggish demand

Urad prices fell by Rs 20 per quintal in the wholesale pulses market today due to fall in demand from local parties.

Other commodities, however, remained unaltered at previous level in the absence of worthwhile activity.

Traders said fall in demand from local parties against increased supplies, led to a decline in urad prices.

Urad and urad chilka (local) fell by Rs 20 each to Rs 5,380-5,930 and Rs 5,980-6,380 per quintal, respectively.
