US indices end lower

Declining dollar against the major overseas currencies saw the US markets end on a weak note. While Dow Jones slumped 51 points to 10,776, the Nasdaq lost six points to close at 2,154.

Indian floats, barring few, ended with modest gains. While Infosys and Satyam finished with marginal gains at $68.96 and $23.98 respectively, Wipro slipped 1.54% to $25.

HDFC Bank added 1.69% to $43.80, and ICICI Bank was up a per cent at $19.95. Dr. Reddy's and VSNL ended with losses at $19.51 and $10.39, respectively.
