The US markets witnessed a sharp turnaround towards the closing bell, after it remained listless for better part of the trading session due to rising oil prices and a morning report showing widening of the deficit.

While the Dow Jones advanced 62 points to 10,618, the Nasdaq added 13 points to close at 2,093.

Indian ADRs, too, registered gains. Infosys and Wipro were up nearly 3% at $64.90 and $21.18, respectively. Satyam was up a notch at $22.

ICICI Bank, Dr. Reddy's and VSNL ended with marginal gains at $18.44, $17.61 and $10.05, respectively. HDFC Bank, however, closed down a per cent at $40.25.
