US indices slip as oil touches record highs

Major US indices crumbled after five session gains yesterday, as rising crude oil prices continue to weigh on the sentiment. While the Dow Jones lost 14 points to 10,609, the Nasdaq was down two points at 2,088.

Indian floats were largely divergent on Monday. Satyam rose 2.66% to $26.66, while Infosys was up a per cent at $75.94. Wipro, however, slipped a per cent at $21.72.

HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, Dr. Reddy's, Tata Motors and MTNL ended lower at $46.65, $22, $16.53, $9.46 and $6.55, respectively. VSNL, however, gained 1.89% to $10.80.
