US indices slump

US markets slided on Friday, with the Dow Jones slumping 77 points to 10,774 while the Nasdaq ending 18 points lower at 2,042.

Indian floats, too, fared badly on the US bourses yesterday. Wipro shed nearly 2% to $21.10, while Infosys and Satyam also ended weak at $74.40 and $23.27, respectively.

Dr. Reddy's dropped 2.21% to $17.23. Tata Motors, VSNL and MTNL also ended at lower levels with marginal losses. HDFC Bank and ICICI Bank, however, ended higher with a per cent gain each at $48.24 and $20.60, respectively.
