US markets end firm

The Dow hit  a 17-month high to close at 10733, stronger by 47 points or 0.4%. Nasdaq ended at 2389, higher by 11 points or 0.4% and S&P shut at 1166, up six points or 0.5%.

The Indian ADRs ended largely in the green. Wipro closed at $24, stronger by $0.7 or 3.2%, ICICI Bank ended at $42, higher by $1 or 2.5% and Dr Reddy's shut at $27, up $0.6 or 2.5%.

Tata Motors ended at $18, higher by $0.2 or 1.4% and Sterlite shut at $18, up $0.1 or 0.8%.
