US markets end mixed; Bank ADRs close higher

The US markets ended on a lacklustre note on Tuesday. The Dow Jones gained 0.23% to 11,413 points. The Nasdaq lost 0.15% to 2362.

Crude oil prices inched higher on fears of Hurricane Gustav settling $1.16 higher. The positive news was that the consumer confidence index improved.

In ADRs, HDFC Bank and ICICI Bank gained 3.67% and 2.68% respectively. Tata Motors advanced 3.28%. Sify and Rediff.com lost 1.85% and 1.5% each.
