US markets end +ve; Patni Computers slips 4%

US stocks gained for a fifth straight day on Thursday on the back of positive outlook from consumer product company Procter & Gamble and a successful Treasury bond auction boosted investors' confidence.

The Dow Jones industrial average was up 80points( 0.84%) at 9,627. The Nasdaq Composite Index was up 24 points (1%) at 2,084.02.

The Indian ADRs ended on a mixed note. Patni Computers dropped 3.5% to $16.9. Mahindra Satyam and MTNL slipped 2% each to $6.62. and $3.74, respectively.

Dr Reddys advanced 2% to $16.64 and Genpact was up 1.5% at $12.19.
