US markets end weak; Mahindra Satyam plunges 9%

US markets fell for a second straight session on Monday as investors ditched home builders and financials on fears lawmakers may let a federal home buyer tax credit expire, while commodity shares was under the pressure from the higher U.S. dollar.

The Dow Jones industrial average dropped 104 points (1%) to 9,868. The Nasdaq Composite Index fell 12.62 points (0.59%) to 2,142.

The Indian ADRs ended on a subdued note. Mahindra Satyam plunged 9% to $5.19 and ICICI Bank slipped 3% to $37.38.

HDFC Bank and Sterlite were down 1.5% each at $116.59 and $17.25, respectively.

On the other hand Tata Motors added 4.5% to $11.96. Dr Reddys and Patni Computers shed 2.5% each to $20.93 and $19.53, respectively.
