US markets tumble; ADRs slide

The Wall Street tumbled on Tuesday on signs of a deeper recession. The Dow Jones industrial average index tanked 298 points to 7,553. The Nasdaq plunged 64 points to 1,471.

The Indian ADRs, too, ended with deep cuts. Sterlite, ICICI Bank and Tata Communications plunged 11-13% each. Satyam, Wipro, Patni Computers, HDFC Bank and MTNL shed 7-9% each. Infosys and Gepact were down 5% each.
