US mkts end higher

US indices ended with steady gains, shrugging off the rising oil prices and mixed economic news. While the Dow Jones added 12 points to 10,579, the Nasdaq gained 14 points to 2,089.

Indian ADRs largely had a mixed outing on the US bourses yesterday. Infosys and Satyam ended weak at $73.43 and $25.66, respectively. Wipro, however, closed up at $21.80.

HDFC Bank and Tata Motors, too, finished in the green with steady gains at $46.73 and $9.70, respectively, while ICICI Bank remained unchanged at $22.

Dr. Reddy's, VSNL and MTNL, however, dipped marginally to close at $16.65, $10.42 and $6.88, respectively.
