Surge in the international oil price failed to dampen the sentiment as the US markets ended on a positive note. While the Dow Jones advanced 63 points to 10,490, the Nasdaq gained 26 points to close at 2,062.

Indian floats, too, joined the rally and ended with sharp gains. Satyam moved up 4.48% to $24.25 and Infosys rose 3.54% to $66. Wipro gained 2.52% to $22.

HDFC Bank shot up nearly 6% to $44.50, while ICICI Bank surged 5% to $19.67. VSNL zoomed 6.24% to $10. Dr. Reddy's, however, was the sole loser and lost 2% to $16.90.
