Recovery in global oil prices failed to lift the US market sentiment on Wednesday, as inflation worries saw the indices change little from their previous close. While the Nasdaq ended flat at 1,990, the Dow Jones lost 14 points to close at 10,456.

Indian floats largely had a disappointing trading session yesterday. Satyam and Wipro dropped 2% each to $22.20 and $20.22, respectively, while Infosys was down 1.11% at $74.67.

HDFC Bank and ICICI Bank shed nearly 3% each to $40 and $20.25, respectively. While Tata Motors lost 2.42% to $9.66, VSNL was down a per cent at $8.59. MTNL, however, rose nearly 3% to $6.74, and Dr. Reddy's gained 1.96% to $17.20.
