US mkts rise, Indian ADRs tumble

US markets showed no signs of nervousness on Fed's quarter-point rate hike yesterday. While the Dow Jones advanced 45 points to 10,597, the Nasdaq was up six points at 2,075.

Indian ADRs, however, fared badly and ended at lower levels. Wipro dropped nearly 3% to $21.78, and Satyam lost 1.82% to $24.29. Infosys was down a per cent at $67.16.

HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank and Dr. Reddy's, too, ended with marginal losses at $44.57, $20.20 and $17, respectively. VSNL, however, was up a per cent at $10.10.
