The US markets took a strong beating towards the closing bell on profit warning announcement by General Motors. Spurt in the oil prices, too, dampened the sentiment. While Dow Jones dropped 112 points to 10,506, the Nasdaq lost 22 points to close at 2,071.

Indian ADRs, however, ended on a mixed note. Satyam closed up a per cent at $22.18, and Wipro finished unchanged from its previous close at $21.18. Infosys, however, lost nearly 2% to $63.75.

While HDFC Bank added nearly 2% to $41, VSNL was up a per cent at $10.15. ICICI Bank and Dr. Reddy's, however, ended down a per cent each at $18.27 and $17.42, respectively.
