US mkts slump, ICICI Bank drops 6%

US markets witnessed sell-off yesterday as investors were vary ahead of the economy report to be released later this week. While the Dow Jones dropped 80 points to 10,406, the Nasdaq lost 19 points to 1,974.

Indian floats, too, were battered. Infosys and Satyam shed nearly 3% each to $72.59 and $21.85, respectively. Wipro declined 2.19% to $20.10.

ICICI Bank crashed nearly 6% to $18.87, while VSNL dropped 3.15% to $8. HDFC Bank, Dr. Reddy's, Tata Motors and MTNL, too, ended weak at $40.55, $17, $9.41 and $6.41, respectively.
