US mkts surge, ICICI Bank gains 4%

Driven by sharp gains in American Express and ExxonMobil, the US markets ended higher for the second consecutive session. While the Dow Jones advanced 62 points to 10,552, the Nasdaq ended six points higher at 2,069.

Indian ADRs, too, ended with impressive gains yesterday. Infosys moved up nearly 3% to $67.80, and Satyam gained 2% to $24.74. Wipro was up nerly 2% at $22.41.

ICICI Bank shot up 4.12% to $20.48. While Dr. Reddy's added 1.48% to $17.15, HDFC Bank was up a tad at $44.66. VSNL, however, finished with marginal losses at $9.99.
