US mkts surge, Infosys gains 3%

US markets bounced back sharply yesterday after a listless trading session on Monday. While the Dow Jones advanced 59 points to 10,508, the Nasdaq gained 13 points to 2,005.

Indian floats had a mixed outing. Infosys jumped nearly 3% to $68.27, while Satyam rose 2.35% to $23.53. Wipro, however, ended marginally weak at $20.16.

ICICI Bank surged 2.87% to $20. HDFC Bank and Tata Motors closed with marginal gains at $43.40 and $9.78, respectively. Dr. Reddy's, VSNL and MTNL, however, finished in the red at $17.45, $8.61 and $6.39, respectively.
