US stocks end higher amid high volatility; Indian ADRs shine

The Wall Street ended on a positive note after two days of weakness in a volatile trade. The Dow Jones industrial average gained 48 points at 7,837. The Nasdaq moved up 29 points to 1,591.

Indian ADRs ended with significant gains. Tata Motors zoomed over 13% to $6.64, and Wipro soared nearly 11% to $8.89. Tata Communications surged nearly 6% to $23.35. Sterlite, Patni Computers and MTNL rallied around 5% each to $7.61, $6.40 and $2.83, respectively. ICICI Bank and Dr.Reddy's gained 4.5% each at $15.19 and $10.36, respectively. Satyam however slipped 4% to $2.45.
