VA Tech Wabag has gained 4% to Rs 1,561 on BSE in early morning trade after the company announced that it has bagged Rs 220-crore order for design and construction of 140 million litres a day sewage treatment plant at Dinapur in Varanasi.
The contract, which is part of the Ganga Action Plan Project, also includes the operation and maintenance of the plant for 10 years.
Wabag will be responsible for the design, engineering, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of the sewage treatment plant.
Ganga Action Plan Project is funded by the Japan International Cooperation Agency. The implementation agency of the project is Ganga Pollution Prevention Unit, UP Jal Nigam, Varanasi.
The stock opened at Rs 1,565 and hit a high of Rs 1,578 on BSE. A combined around 16,000 shares changed hands on the counter in first five minutes of trade on NSE and BSE.
