Volatility in the market continues as fresh selling pressure in select heavyweight, tech, auto and other old economy stocks has seen the index slip below 6,200 mark. The Sensex is now down six points at 6,186. The Nifty is down three points at 1,931. ITC has slipped a per cent (Rs 12) to Rs 1,240. HLL is down a rupee at Rs 142. Reliance, however, is still up a per cent (Rs 3) at Rs 514. Satyam has dropped 2.22% (Rs 8) to Rs 358. While Infosys is marginally down at Rs 1,962, Wipro is trading with a steady gain of Rs 5 at Rs 688. While ONGC is trading lower by Rs 3 at Rs 772, SBI is down a rupee at Rs 583. Tata Power has declined 1.63% (Rs 6) to Rs 370. Bajaj, on weaker-than-expected Q3 results, has slumped nearly 5% (Rs 54) to Rs 1,030. Maruti is down a rupee at Rs 416. Hero Honda (up Rs 4 to Rs 541) is trading with steady gains. Cipla, which reported strong Q3 gains yesterday, is holding on to its gains at Rs 266 - up Rs 5 or 1.82%. While Ranbaxy has shed 1.28% (Rs 13) to Rs 999, Dr. Reddy's is down Rs 3 at Rs 709. Reliance Energy, which reported 150% rise in its Q3 net, has gained nearly 2% (Rs 10) to Rs 508. While Tisco is up 1.58% (Rs 5) at Rs 349, Zee has gained 2.52% (Rs 4) to Rs 153. HDFC Bank is up 1.30% (Rs 7) at Rs 519. |
